The renovation of Cheeca Lodge, an island fishing retreat, increased the hotel´s capacity threefold. The climate and separation from the mainland give Cheeca a slow-paced charm. The Client wanted the renovations to preserve that character and, simultaneously, provide a more luxurious atmosphere. The design response was a casual, eclectic reflection of this environment.

The renovations incorporated local materials such as Florida keystone, used for flooring and columns. Brilliant splashes of color in artwork and upholsteries play against the overall off-white of the walls and floors.
