For this headquarters office project for a small Bay Area company, the designer converted a World War II ammunitions bunker into new corporate headquarters. The designer faced the challenge of working with a partially underground, windowless space. To solve the unique building issues, the designer inserted private offices, conference rooms, and art-filled alcoves as free-standing elements. Narrow skylights, cut to follow the arched volumes of the vault, create an interior bathed in soft light, supplemented by discreet uplighting strategically placed throughout the space.
