Drawing liberally on Stanford´s collection of rare books, the design team, lead by Phyllis Martin-Vegue, developed a palette of colors that literally came from the exquisite bindings and end papers of the rare book collection.

The project encompassed both a large new addition and the extensive refurbishment of the old Main Library at Stanford.
